Daily Market Summary: NEPSE Index Gains 3.82% for the Day and Bounces Back More Than 10% from Recent Pivot Low – |


The NEPSE index closed at 2,507.70 today after gaining 92.16 points from yesterday’s closing. This is a gain of 3.82% on the index. The index had gained 56.73 points yesterday.

233 scrips traded hands via 55,997 transactions. The Float index is at 172.29 after gaining 3.79% while the Sensitive index gained 3.19% and is now at 477.26.

Himalayan Distillery Limited (HDL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 68.34 crores closing at a market price of Rs. 7,000 per share. The shares of Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited (HIDCL) traded the most.

A total of 4 scrips gained the most 10% and hit the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, 8% Nabil Debenture 2085 (NBLD85) lost the most 4.59% and closed at Rs. 935.

All sectors indices gained today. The sector “Trading” gained the most 8.23%.

Technical Analysis Highlight

The index opened at 2,425.05 and did not trade lower. The index then closed at the intraday high at 2,507.70. This had also happened yesterday. The index not trading lower than the market-open and closing at the intraday high is a strong sign of bullish optimism, at least for the day.

A total of 8,104,319 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 4.523 Arba in the turnover amount. This is higher than yesterday’s turnover of Rs. 2.383 Arba, hence an optimistic signal.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is at 47.89. The reading was at 39.20 yesterday. The RSI reading breaking above 50 would indicate intermediate-term upwards momentum. Meanwhile, both the MACD line and the signal line are negative, i.e. below zero, with the MACD reading at -78.04. This reading was at -90.13 yesterday. It is important to note that the MACD line has crossed over the signal line, hence indicating bullish sentiment.

The green candle formed today is bigger than the previous candle and was brought about by greater market participation. Furthermore, the candle opened higher than the previous candle’s close, which is a promising signal. With this, the index has already bounced back 10.88% from the most-recent pivot low.
